Those children who are ready to work are encouraged to do so , right from their entry into school. Those who are in need of structured and developmental play are given this time. The Reception classes lay the foundation for your child's education.

All the new Reception class children and parents have the opportunity of meeting their class teacher and support assistants in the summer term prior to them starting school. Parents and children are invited to school for coffee and biscuits. There is also a half day visit at the end of the summer tem and an evening meeting for all parents. These visits are very important as they give parents all the information they will need for thier child's start to school.
Reception children only attend school part time for the first 2 weeks so that their transition into school is as happy and smooth as possible. After 2 weeks they attend full time and can also stay for dinner or bring a packed lunch. Back to top
